Boardwalk Repair Notice: Beginning March 9 through May 8, 2026, a portion of the boardwalk at Turkey Creek Sanctuary will be temporarily closed for repairs. The sanctuary will remain open and most areas of the boardwalk will still be accessible to visitors. We appreciate your patience as we complete these improvements to maintain the safety of the boardwalk.

We’re happy to announce the opening of our new restroom facilities at Turkey Creek Sanctuary!
Designed with visitor comfort in mind, the new amenities include modern restrooms as well as a drinking fountain with bottle filler, giving guests a convenient place to refresh and refill while enjoying the sanctuary. These improvements help make every visit more accessible and enjoyable as you explore our trails and natural spaces.

Public access and parking for the Turkey Creek Sanctuary is available at the Margaret Hames Nature Center by the Tony Rosa Community Center.
Directions: Located off Port Malabar Blvd. at Santiago Dr.
The Sanctuary is open 7 days a week from 7 AM until sunset or when posted.
The nature center is open daily from 9 AM until 4 PM. The center is manned by volunteers, so visitors may want to call ahead to make sure we are open before stopping by, as volunteers are limited at this time.
Admission is FREE.
The Sanctuary is ADA Accessible.
Service Animals Only; no pets allowed in Turkey Creek Sanctuary.

Important Notice: Protecting Turkey Creek Sanctuary's Wildlife
We kindly remind all visitors that feeding squirrels or any wildlife within Turkey Creek Sanctuary is strictly prohibited. Human food is detrimental to the animals' health and disrupts their natural foraging behaviors. Additionally, it can lead to increased aggression and dependency on humans.
If you encounter an aggressive animal, please report the incident to the Nature Center staff immediately. Your cooperation is crucial in maintaining the safety and well-being of our wildlife.
