🚧 Driskell Park Closure for Renovations 🚧

Driskell Park (2155 Monroe St NE) will be fully closed beginning April 27 for comprehensive renovations. The park is anticipated to reopen by June 30. Planned improvements include a complete interior renovation of the restroom building with new tile and upgraded amenities, exterior enhancements to the facility, replacement and upgrades of approximately 1,000 linear feet of sidewalk, and full removal and replacement of both basketball court surfaces and goals. Due to the scope of work, the park will remain closed to the public for the duration of the project.

🏗️ Liberty Park Phased Improvements & Partial Closures 🏗️

Liberty Park (895 Carlyle Ave SE) will undergo improvements in phases, allowing portions of the park to remain open while work is underway. Visitors should expect temporary closures and limited access to certain areas throughout the project.

The north parking lot will be closed beginning the week of April 27 for sidewalk replacement, parking lot repairs, and seal coating. This phase is anticipated to be completed by June 3. During this time, sections of sidewalk near the basketball and multiuse courts will also be replaced, requiring intermittent closures in those areas.

Following completion of the north parking lot, work will shift to the south parking lot. Repairs and seal coating will be completed in phases, with portions of the lot closed as work progresses. This phase is also expected to be completed by June 3.

Additional CDBG-funded improvements are planned, with construction timelines pending material delivery. The multipurpose court is expected to be closed for an extended period, estimated to last several months once work begins. Dugout construction will also take place and may impact field use; however, fields are anticipated to remain open during this portion of the project.

Field Closure Notice – Fred Poppe Regional Park

Please be advised that Soccer Fields 3 & 4 at Fred Poppe Regional Park (1951 Malabar Rd NW) are closed for annual maintenance and will reopen on Monday, April 20.

This temporary closure supports turf recovery, helps prevent overuse, and ensures safe playing conditions during a critical period for field care.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain high-quality, safe fields for everyone.

🚧 Lynbrook Park Ballfield Closures 🚧

To accommodate our users, Field Two at Lynbrook Park (695 Lynbrook St NW, Palm Bay) is currently closed at this time while we update and replace the fencing.

Work on Field One is complete and the field has reopened.  Field Two is now closed so fencing updates can begin on that field.

At this time, we do not have a confirmed time for project completion. This post will be updated as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the park facilities.
