We take great pride in representing our citizens and City.

Vision Statement: Palm Bay is a city prepared for growth, with diverse business and job opportunities. We live in an attractive, beautiful city which is the safest city in Brevard county, and continuously enjoy recreational and entertainment amenities. Palm Bay city government is financially sustainable and provides customer-friendly city services. Palm Bay has a strong sense of community unity and pride. Citizens are involved in making a better community.

Mayor Medina

Mayor Rob Medina. Term starts November 2020 and ends November 2024. His email is MayorRobMedina@pbfl.org

Mayor Rob Medina has been a resident of Palm Bay for more than 38 years. Originally from New York, New York, Mayor Medina chose to settle in Palm Bay after proudly serving with the United States Marine Corps. A servant leader guided by God, honor, and integrity, Mayor Medina is committed to building public trust by leading an open and accessible government in service to the citizens of the great city of Palm Bay.

Mayor Medina holds a Master of Arts Degree in Theology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Life Christian University. He serves as the Director of Ministry at House Family Ministries Church in Palm Bay. Mayor Medina is happily married to his wife, Lissette. He is a father of six children and the grandfather of ten. As a Palm Bay resident, Mayor Medina has long been an active supporter of the community, serving as a youth mentor, as well as a football and baseball coach.

Mayor Medina recently completed 20 years of federal service, including the last 16 years serving the constituents of Florida’s 8th and 15th Congressional Districts. He expresses his sincere gratitude to Congressmen Bill Posey and Mike Haridopolos for the opportunity and honor of serving as part of their administration. Through his work, Mayor Medina played an integral role in obtaining official recognitions and awards such as the Congressional Gold Medal for the U.S. Army’s 65th Infantry Regiment, as well as assisting local veterans in receiving long-overdue honors including the Bronze Star Medal with V device and the Purple Heart Medal for heroic service. In 2019, Mayor Medina was honored with his second Congressional Medal of Recognition for his longstanding service to the veteran community.

Mayor Medina also served as an Aide to former Brevard County Commissioner Jackie Colon from 2000 until 2008. During that time, he built a strong foundation in local government and developed a deep understanding of the issues that impact the economic success and quality of life of Palm Bay residents.

Using his strong ties in the community and the experience gained from decades of public service, Mayor Medina continues to work to build a brighter future for the people of Palm Bay.

Kenny Johnson was born in Melbourne, FL. He graduated from Bayside High School and went on to play collegiate football with a full athletic scholarship at Charleston Southern University. While there he earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. This is an organization which was founded on the principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift. Upon an early graduation, he returned home to Brevard County where he worked as a juvenile case manager, juvenile detention officer, teacher, coach, mentor, and personal trainer. In 2016, he started his own business called Top Notch Training of Brevard, Inc. whose mission has been to provide area residents access to affordable and effective health and wellness plans so they may exceed their fitness goals through education, nutrition, and safe action.

Kenny’s favorite quote comes from Frederick Douglass: “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” Since 2013, Kenny has been dedicating his time and efforts to mentor and educate the youth of our community through self-organized mentor programs at schools, his place of business, and other community events. One of his first acts as a councilman was creating a Youth Advisory Board for high school students to have a platform to share their ideas and perspectives on how to continue improving our city. He also established Palm Bay’s Annual Black History Event; a Business Assistance Web Page to teach potential business owners everything they would need to start a business in our community; Palm Bay’s Inaugural Veteran’s Day Parade; and a Civil Citation Program to provide law enforcement additional tools to address the possession of misdemeanor amounts of cannabis and paraphernalia, and to allow offenders to address their actions through a fine or community service rather than jail time which would have long term effects on their livelihood. He is also working with organizations on addressing homelessness, the opioid epidemic, and affordable housing. He ran on the principles of honor, integrity, and transparency of which he believes the city is back on that track. As a homeowner, business owner, and a father I understand what’s important to our residents and their interests are the same as mine.
