Burn Ban in Effect

On April 24, 2025, the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) for Brevard County reached 500. Because of this, Brevard County implemented a ban on open burning pursuant to County Code Section 50. This includes campfires, bonfires, trash-burning and other similar open incineration. Prohibitions do not include state-permitted burns, use of barbeque grills, authorized public fireworks displays and fireworks sales which are authorized by state law. The Palm Bay Fire Rescue Fire Chief has imposed a burn ban within the city, effective April 24th, 2025, until further notice.

These homes are licensed by the State of Florida, but the municipality (City) must be notified of the location and licensing of these homes per Florida State Law to ensure compliance with zoning codes and separation requirements.
