GO Roads Bond Paving Program Update: Unit 42 and Garvey Road

Update | Asphalt Paving System Inc. is in the process of completing the final punchout on sods and minor paving in Unit 42 and Garvey Road as of August 31, 2020.

GO Roads Paving in Unit 42

The City of Palm Bay's GO Roads Bond paving program has moved on to the areas of Unit 42 and Garvey Road as of May 26, 2020  per the Notice to Proceed with Asphalt Paving System, Inc., who was awarded the contract in the amount of $7,921,652.40 with a contingency fund of $377,000 to cover any unforeseen change orders which are typical for construction projects. Unit 42 streets include a mix of Thin Lift Overlays, Milling and Paving, and Full Depth Reclamation (FDR). Garvey Road from Malabar to Garbelmann is approximately 2.03 miles of Full Depth Reclamation. 

Work for Unit 42 is well underway, with all FDR completed and only milling and paving remaining. Work on Garvey Road to commence with FDR operations beginning on Monday, July 20th. As with all GO Roads projects, the City of Palm Bay Public Works Department will be distributing door hangers to inform residents of the timing for construction in their area.
