The City of Palm Bay, in partnership with Volunteers of America of Florida (VOAF), is proud to announce the groundbreaking of its latest development, Space Coast Commons.

Space Coast Commons will consist of 31 new affordable rental units, located at 1981 Convair St SE, Palm Bay Florida 32909. The City of Palm Bay executed a subrecipient grant agreement with Volunteers of America of Florida, Inc. on November 18, 2022 providing American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds in the amount of $975,000 for site development and construction costs related to the Space Coast Commons affordable housing project. ARPA funds will address the issue of affordable housing that has both predated and been exacerbated by the COVID-19 crisis. The City’s investment in the creation of new affordable housing units also commits long-term sustainability of the project, requiring the units to remain affordable for 20 years from the date of the completion. The City is proud to be a partner with Volunteers of America of Florida, Inc, as we prepare for the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for September 17, 2024, at 9 AM.

Parking will be available along Convair St. Safety Notice: Attendees are kindly reminded to wear closed-toe shoes for safety, as the event will take place at an active construction site.
