During the early afternoon of April 13, 2021, the Palm Bay Utilities Department (PBUD) sustained a sanitary sewer force main break near the intersection of Palm Bay Road and Robert J. Conlan Boulevard. The incident was likely caused by a private contractor performing underground utility work in the right-of-way.

To protect public health, PBUD’s team immediately notified nearby businesses. The Palm Bay Public Works Department was called and is installing barriers to protect stormwater inlets and boxes from illicit discharges.

Assessments are currently underway, and crews are on-site to isolate the incident. Measures are being taken to prevent additional overflows.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS
Businesses will experience a temporary outage of sewer services.
