Notice of Funding Availability: CDBG-Coronavirus 3 Grant Applications Open March 26

At the Regular Council Meeting held November 19, 2020, the City of Palm Bay held the first hearing for a substantial amendment to its Program Year 2019-2020 Annual Action Plan to allocate $491,218 in Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus 3 (CBDG-CV3) funding under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) to eligible programs and activities that “prepare, prevent and respond to the Coronavirus”.

The City of Palm Bay has a remaining allocation of $77,629.20 for eligible Public Services, assistance related to Special Economic Development, and/or Affordable Housing activities that prevent, prepare, and respond to the Coronavirus. The CDBG-CV3 funds are administered by the City of Palm Bay and regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).

Applications for funding will be available starting Friday, March 26, 2021. Applications are available during normal business hours in the Community & Economic Development Department located on the 2nd floor at Palm Bay City Hall, 120 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL 32907. Applications will also be made available at the Palm Bay Public Library located at 1520 Port Malabar Blvd. NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905, Franklin T. DeGroodt Public Library at 6475 Minton Rd. SW, Palm Bay, FL 32908, and The Evans Center at 1361 Florida Ave. NE, Palm Bay, FL 32905. Requests for applications can also be made via email at CDBGCV@pbfl.org. Applications will be accepted until all funds are allocated and can be dropped off, mailed or e-mailed to the Community & Economic Development Department at Palm Bay City Hall, Second Floor, 120 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, FL 32907 or CDBGCV@pbfl.org.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the Housing & Community Development Division’s website at www.palmbayflorida.org/housing for information on eligible programs and activities under this grant program.
