The Palm Bay Police Department’s starting salary for a non-certified Communication Officer Trainee is $37,128.00 ($17.85/hour) annually.  A trainee is eligible for a 5% increase upon obtaining the Public Safety Telecommunicator State Certification (one year of employment).  A certified Communication Officers who possess a PST certification and have one or more years of experience in the field starting salary is $46,483 ($22.35/hour) annually.

The City provides shift differential for Communications Officers for Communication Officers assigned to evening ($1.00/hour) and midnight shifts ($1.50/hour). 

The City pays an annual academic achievement incentive, if applicable.
