A Desk Booking Specialist II (DBS II) is a certified corrections position. They perform clerical and specialized law enforcement work assisting our police officers, the general public, and processing prisoners for the Police Department. Their duties involve greeting the public to receive inquiries and complaints, performing general research of police records, and processing a variety of reports and civil papers. Desk Booking Specialists are also responsible for booking and admitting prisoners to our detention center, performing general custodial work in holding cells, and prisoner transport when needed. They are trained and required to qualify with personal protective devices including a handgun, taser, and baton.
