Palm Bay Mayor Rob Medina Releases December 2025 Mayor's Message

It's a great day Palm Bay!

Post Date:12/01/2025

The City of Palm Bay has a lineup of festive events to get you into the holiday spirit! Join us on Friday, December 5, at 6:30 PM, as we kick off the season with the lighting of the Palm Bay Christmas Tree at Palm Bay City Hall, located at 120 Malabar Road. Enjoy performances by the Odyssey Charter School Band, Palm Bay Elementary Little Pirates, Port Malabar Elementary, and the Heritage High School Show Choir. Refreshments will be available for purchase with all proceeds benefiting United Way of Brevard. Bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation and get a free light-up Christmas Tree wand. After the tree lighting ceremony, stick around for pictures with Santa and crafts inside City Hall.

Join us the following evening for one of Palm Bay’s most cherished traditions, the Space Coast’s biggest holiday parade. The 2025 City of Palm Bay Holiday Light Parade returns to Malabar Road on Saturday, December 6, beginning at 6 PM. This three-mile celebration will step off from Eastern Florida State College, make its way north on San Filippo Drive, head west along Malabar Road, and finish at Minton Road right in front of City Hall. You’ll see brightly lit floats, marching bands, cheer squads, motorized vehicles, and so much more as they fill the night with music, color, and holiday spirit. It’s a wonderful way to come together as a community, and I hope to see you there.

The City is also premiering a Trucks, Treats and Eats event. I’m excited to welcome everyone to Palm Bay City Hall on Friday, December 12. From 5 to 8 PM, you’ll find a great lineup of local food trucks serving up some truly delicious options for the whole family. We’ll also have our fire trucks, public works vehicles, and other city equipment on site for everyone to explore. It’s a fun way for kids and adults to see the tools and trucks that keep our city moving and learn a little more about the work our teams do every day. A DJ will be keeping the energy high with music throughout the evening, helping set the tone for a festive night together. With good food, hands-on activities, and a welcoming holiday atmosphere, I hope you’ll join us for a fun and memorable evening.

Who doesn’t love a F-R-double-E, free, event? I know I do! So go ahead and mark those calendars, because the 17th Annual Family Christmas Extravaganza is coming to Fred Poppe Regional Park on Saturday, December 20, from 10:00 AM to 3 PM, and you do not want to miss it! This is the largest Christmas celebration on the entire Space Coast, and it holds a special place in my heart. In partnership with The House Church, we’re bringing our community a full day of joy and holiday spirit at absolutely no cost. We’re talking live entertainment, free popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, drinks, bounce houses, horse rides, face painting, giveaways, and so much more. And this year, we’re taking it up another level… we have a FERRIS WHEEL!

We’re also excited to bring back Extravaganza’s Got Talent. If you’ve got a special skill to share, this is your chance to shine. The deadline to enter is December 10, and the prizes are impressive: $1500 for first place, $1000 for second, and $500 for third. Email your audition video to familychristmasextravaganza@gmail.com.

Bring your family, your friends, your neighbors, and let’s celebrate Christmas together in the greatest city on the face of the Earth. Visit familychristmasextravaganza.com for all the details.

As we enter this joyful season, I want to extend my heartfelt holiday greetings to all Palm Bayers and friends, both near and far. My hope and prayer is that your days are filled with joy, togetherness, and meaningful moments with the people you love.

Let’s also take a moment to remember the true reason for the season. Christmas isn’t about the gifts we unwrap, but the grace and presence of our Savior. May your home be filled with peace, your heart be strengthened in faith, and may the New Year bring blessings in abundance.

For many of us, we also say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Palm Bay!
