The City of Palm Bay will begin construction on a new safety fence surrounding the newly installed inclusive playground at Fred Poppe Regional Park, located at 1951 Malabar Road NW. Construction will begin on Wednesday, July 9.
The safety fence is designed to enhance security for children and families by providing a protective barrier between the playground and nearby ponds within the park. This improvement is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to creating safe and accessible recreational spaces for all residents.
The playground will be closed Wednesday, July 9 through Friday, July 11, and will reopen on Saturday morning, July 12 at 8 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to use caution near construction zones and follow posted signage for everyone’s safety.
“We’re excited to continue improving our parks to make them safer and more welcoming for all families,” said Josh Hudak, Parks Division Manager for the City of Palm Bay's Parks & Facilities Department. “This fence is an important addition to the inclusive playground, helping to ensure children can play safely and securely.”
