Join us in Council Chambers on June 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM for the City of Palm Bay Speaker Series, a special evening commemorating 250 Years of American Freedom. Through engaging presentations and thoughtful discussion, attendees will explore where America has been, where we are today, and where we are headed as a nation. The evening will begin with welcoming remarks, the Pledge of Allegiance, and introductions of the featured speakers.

At 5:30 PM, Nicolette Talley will present “Traveling Through the US in 2026: National Parks and the American Story.” Drawing on her extensive experience in travel, heritage interpretation, and public history, Talley will explore how America’s national parks and landscapes help tell the story of our nation and its people.

At 6:15 PM, Dr. Michael Bocco will present “America’s 250th Independence Day Anniversary: The Founding of the American Moment & Introspection.” A college history professor, local historian, and published author, Dr. Bocco will offer reflections on America’s founding, its historical significance, and the importance of examining the nation’s past as we look toward the future.

At 7:00 PM, Marie Loeffler will present “Let America Ring: Celebrating 250 Years of Remembrance, Resilience, and Hope.” Through storytelling, history, and the symbolism of handbells, Loeffler will explore America’s journey over the past 250 years and invite audiences to reflect on the values, challenges, and aspirations that continue to shape our nation.
