Your next level starts here. Whether you’re stepping into the water for the first time or looking to build stronger, more confident strokes, Next Wave is designed to meet you where you are—and take you further.
Coming Summer 2026, Next Wave at the Palm Bay Aquatic Center is City of Palm Bay Recreation’s newest aquatics program, created for swimmers ready to take the next step in skills, confidence, and water safety. This program offers a supportive, structured path for both teens and adults, focusing on skill development, water confidence, and progression at every level. From basic water comfort and floating to stroke technique and endurance, each class helps swimmers grow at their own pace in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.
Our experienced instructors create a positive and encouraging atmosphere where beginners feel comfortable and advancing swimmers stay challenged. No matter your starting point, you’ll gain the skills, confidence, and strength to move forward in the water.
Program options include Teen Fundamentals for ages 13–17 building confidence and core skills, Adult Beginners for ages 18+ learning to swim or returning after time away, Advanced Skills for stroke refinement, endurance, and lap swimming confidence with youth, teen, and adult group options, and Stroke & Fitness for swimmers focused on technique, strength, and overall fitness, also offered across youth, teen, and adult levels.
Two sessions will be offered. Session 1 runs June 2 through June 25, and Session 2 runs July 7 through July 30. Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM. Each group is limited to 8 participants per age category.
Registration opens Monday, May 4 at 9 AM at playonline.palmbayfl.gov. Classes are held at the Palm Bay Aquatic Center, 420 Community College Parkway SE. For more information, call (321) 952-2833.
